Patrick Holt

Patrick Holt, age 86, passed away in Golden, CO on December 16, 2020.  He was born in LaSalle, IL in 1934, and moved to Galesburg, IL as a young child.  Patrick graduated from Corpus Christi High School in 1952.  He proudly served in the United States Army and enjoyed living on the beach in Playa del Rey, CA before returning to Galesburg in the late 1950’s and starting his lifelong career as a plumber and pipefitter.

Patrick was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia, of forty one years, his daughter, Lora, his parents, J. Raymond and V. Irene and his sister, Mary.  He is survived by his sons, Frank Felz (Young Hughes) of Granbury, TX, Michael Felz (Kim Jones) of Golden, CO, Paul (Linda) Felz of Broomfield, CO, Patrick (Joan) Felz of Buffalo Grove, IL, and Martin (Joanne) Holt of Highlands Ranch, CO.  Additionally, he is survived by grandchildren, Christopher, Sean, Christine, James, Matthew, Megan, Frank, Andrew, Anna, and Audrey who gave him pride, brothers John Holt and Thomas (Patricia) Holt and their children who he often recalled fondly.

Patrick’s hobbies included his love of dogs and horses, ranching and gardening, construction and woodworking, engine repair, classic cars, and playing cards with family and friends.  He also enjoyed coaching youth league baseball for several years.  He was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, the Green Bay Packers, and Chicago Bulls.

Patrick was a faithful servant, husband, father and friend.  His family remembers him for his devotion, clarity and discernment, optimism, and generosity.  His funeral will be Saturday, December 26th at St Thomas More Catholic Church in Centennial, CO followed by his burial and memorial service in Galesburg, IL in the spring.  Those wishing to honor his life can make a donation to St. Patrick Catholic Church in Galesburg, IL or St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Centennial, CO.
