Patrick M. Mawe

Pat is survived by his wife (""girlfriend""), Patty, daughters Janette (Richard) Armitage, Jeanene (Anthony) Canavino, Jennifer (Donald) Stitt and Jacqueline Mawe; six granddaughters, Morghan, Lohren, Jordhan and Kohrbyn Stitt, Hannah Lear and Kendall Armitage; one grandson, Blake Armitage, one granddog, Louie Patrick; half-brother Glenn (Carol) Chapman, and mother of his four daughters, ex-wife Kathleen Mawe and numerous cousins. Pat is also survived by his mother-in-law Dorothy Harris; brothers-in-law Harold (Kim) Wolff, Brian (Vicki) Wolff; and sisters-in-law Jayme Collier and Tracey (Billy) Lovell. He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph M. and Margery A. Mawe. Pat graduated from Holy Family High School in 1962 and then began his long career at Adolph Coors Company in Golden, Colorado. He worked there approximately 20 years. His other career achievements include time at Leprino Foods, Leprino Transportation, Shamrock Foods, Carpet Exchange, Forklift Systems and most recently Welch Equipment Company where he retired in June 2010. Pat loved to fly, owned four hot air balloons and participated in numerous events throughout Colorado and neighboring states. In 2003 he started flying powered parachutes with his wife and co-pilot, Patty in the back seat. He also enjoyed antiquing, painting with acrylics and fishing, especially fly fishing. He loved to travel, particularly in the Caribbean. Spending time with his grandchildren, AKA his ""best friends"", was especially rewarding. Pat fought a courageous fight over the past 3.5 years battling cancer. During this time, he adopted ""Life is Good"" as our family's motto. Annually, we held ""Celebration of Life"" parties. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pat's name to Reel Recovery, 160 Brookside Road, Needham, MA 02492, or Exempla Lutheran Collier Hospice, 3210 North Lutheran Parkway, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033. A casual Celebration of his Life will be held on Saturday, January 12th from 1:00pm – 4:00pm at Heritage Todd Creek Clubhouse located at 8455 Heritage Drive, Thornton, CO 80602, 720-230-4700.
