Patrick Dennis McCormick

Patrick Dennis McCormick, 43, passed away October 24, 2009, in Aurora, Colorado from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was born September 19, 1966 in Riverside, California. Most of Pat's formative years were spent in the metro area. He graduated from Smoky Hill High School in 1984 and then attended college in both Sterling and Greeley, Colorado. He worked as Chief, Warehouse Foreman, in screen print and most recent as a Thermal Spray Foreman for Empire Metal Spray. Pat met Julie (the love of his life) in 1994 as a co-worker. Shortly thereafter, Pat started playing softball for the Company's team just so he could get to know her. It didn't take long for sparks to fly and a family was formed. Pat and Julie played softball together for many years on 3 different leagues. He also played on a men's softball league. Pat loved to work with computers and was self taught. He also enjoyed playing computer games. Pat was a great friend to many and was most notably known for his sense of humor. He loved to make people laugh. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and he especially enjoyed having the wind in his face while riding. Pat's greatest love was spending time with his family and playing with his kids. He considered his family to be his greatest accomplishment. A beloved husband, devoted father, cherished son, favorite uncle, loyal friend, and adored brother. He is loved and will be deeply missed by many...his absence in our lives is profound. Pat is survived by his wife, Julie Rebecca Morris McCormick; children, Amber Lara McCormick, Hunter Ryan McCormick & Karina Marie McCormick, all of Centennial, Colorado; Parents, Wilbur ""Mac"" Harold and Ruth Ann McCormick, Aurora, Colorado; brothers, Andrew Paul McCormick & Khaleb Ian Dammen; and many friends and extended family members. A visitation will be held on Monday, November 2, 2009, from 9:00am-10:45am and the Funeral Service will begin at 11:00am, at Horan & McConaty, 11150 East Dartmouth Ave., Aurora, CO 80014. Burial will be at Mount Simeon Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the McCormick Children's Fund at any First Bank.
