Patrick "Pat" Johnston Dean

May 15, 1946 — July 12, 2024

Pat was born on May 15, 1946 to Mary Elizabeth "Betty" (O'Brien) and Ellsworth Arnold Dean, Sr.

He passed away on July 12, 2024 at the home of his daughter, Christy Mitchell. He only found out in May that he had prostate cancer and that had metastasized to his bones.

He grew up in the Kansas City, Missouri area and attended Visitation Grade School and graduated from De La Salle Academy in 1965.

Surviving to mourn his loss are his ex-wife, Janet M. Cain of Parker, Colorado, his three beautiful daughters, Teri (Todd) Finley, Stacy (Aaron) Raymond and (Christy Nate) Mitchell, all of Aurora, Colorado, as well as seven grandchildren.

Pat and Janet M. Ward were married in Kansas City, Mo on July 15, 1967. They divorced on December 7, 2007.

One of Pat's greatest strengths was his ability to sell. One of Pat's brother-in-laws said he could sell manure to a pig farmer. One of his grandsons said he could sell ice to an Eskimo. He did a wonderful job supporting his family.

Pat owned and operated his own concrete poured walls construction Company in Maryland (W Bar D Construction). He then became the VP of sales for Western Forms, Inc. in Kansas City.

In 1980 he and Janet along with their three young daughters moved to Denver, Colorado to start a distributorship for Western Forms, Inc.

After leaving Western Forms, Pat founded Dean Enterprises, Inc. He was instrumental in the invention and development of DECO Products, manufacturer of environmental friendly concrete coatings and sealers. DECO is now the standard in foundation waterproofing nationwide.

He was preceded in death by both his parents, a step-father John W. Johnson and his three brothers: Ellsworth A. Dean, Jr., Michael P. Dean (his twin brother) and Terrance Glenn Dean.
