Patrick C. Valdez

Patrick Celedone Valdez, 86, was born in the small town of Apishapa, Colorado, to Celedone and Lucinda Valdez on St. Patrick's Day in 1923. He went to school in Trinidad, Colorado, and graduated from high school there. On March 7, 1944, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served as Radioman 3rd Class in WWII. He was honorably discharged in 1946. Patrick married Martha E. Romero in Raton, New Mexico, and he was a loving husband and father to Martha and their four children - Ronald (Terri), Dan, Peggy (David) Fergason and Annette (Kevin) Martinez. Patrick also loved his five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was a long-time City & County of Denver employee in the Payroll Department before his retirement. Patrick's Rosary will be held at Horan & McConaty, 9998 Grant Street, Thornton, on Sunday, August 23, 2009 at 7PM. His Funeral Mass will be held at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 2361 East 78th Avenue, Welby, on Monday, August 24, 2009 beginning at 10AM.
