Patrick "Pat" L. Fulton was born on May 17, 1949 in Price, Utah to parents John and Theresa Fulton, Patrick “Pat” was one of 10 children. Preceded in death by brothers David, Thomas “Tommy”, and sister Colleen (Weakland). Pat is survived by six other siblings, Rita (Campbell), Mary (Tyree), Lawrence “Larry”, Otilla “O.T.” (Wargo), Jack, and Lucy (Garrison). Pat grew up in Mills, Wyoming he attended and graduated from Natrona County High School in 1967. During High School Pat began working for Salt Creek Freightways until he was drafted to Vietnam in 1970, spending the next two years serving our country in the US Army during the war in Vietnam. After his discharge from the US Army, Pat moved to Denver, Colorado and began his career as an over-the road truck driver.
On Memorial Day in 1972 Pat met the love of his life Bernadette “Bernie” Sandoval, and they married on May 5, 1973 at Annunciation Catholic Church. Pat and Bernie had four children; Desmond (Brianna Fulton), Theresa (John Rosasco), Lisa (Martin Adler) and Gina. Pat had seven beautiful grandchildren; Darian Fulton, Miraya Fulton, Sophia Rosasco, Vincent Rosasco, Gianna Rosasco, Anthony Adler, and Rachel Adler.
Pat worked for numerous trucking companies, driving “twin trailers'' or “trips” over the road for the next 30 years. Driving for Salt Creek, ANR, Roadway, Yellow Freight, and Fiore Brother’s to name a few. Always one seeking to be the very best and consummate professional, Pat often competed in the State and National Truck Driving Championships. Pat won 5 State Truck Driving championships and a National title in the “twin trailer class”. In 1986 he was presented with the prestigious Leo Wazniak award, which recognizes one individual in the country that exemplifies true professionalism by his driving record, skill, attitude, and personality.
Pat’s hobbies included fishing, hunting, and camping. Not one to sit still, Pat was constantly busy working on projects. Besides hobbies, Pat’s true love in life was his family. Being married for 49 years, Pat and Bernie made many memories that always involved a love for family and fun activities. A love for local travel, including road trips with the family to see God’s natural creations and beauty. A love for the outdoors, Pat loved to go up to “The Campbell Ranch at No Ketchum” and chase deer and fish in the ponds for trout. A love for “the hills” Pat cherished spending time with Bernie in Black Hawk playing slots and enjoying each other's company. A lifelong Bronco fan, you would always find Pat and Bernie at Denver Bronco home games, cheering on their beloved Broncos.
A true mentor and a man of limitless patience, Pat always found time to share life lessons and words of wisdom. Pat was evergiving with his time and thoughtfulness, always willing to be the friend, father figure, and voice of reason. Evergiving with his time, one could always count on Pat to be there with a helping hand. Whether it was shoveling snow, or mowing a neighbor's lawn, Pat was the one person that was always there in times of need.
Pat’s faith in God was evident by his actions and words. Active in the Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, Pat always found a way to serve God through devotion of his time and energy. Always leading with humility, he was quick to share a kind word and smile. He was known for his gentleness, his patience and his love for life and family. Pat touched numerous lives, and will always be remembered as a kind and gentle soul… he will be missed, but never forgotten.
Recitation of the Rosary, followed by a Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 beginning at 9:30am at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 1843 West 52nd Avenue, Denver, CO 80221. Committal to follow at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery. Reception immediately following at the Lakeviewroom Event Center located at 12 lakeside Ln. Suite #200, Denver, Colorado.
