Paul was born on August 2, 1929 to Victor and Esther Miller in Muscatine, Iowa. He had two sisters, Ruth and Grace, and a brother, Ralph. Paul's parents and two sisters predeceased him. He graduated from high school, Northwestern College and Northern Baptist Seminary.
Paul married Marilyn Harbold and they had four children: Cheryl (Ed), Michael (Rosa), Lorel (Shayne) and Daniel (Roxanna.) Marilyn went to be with the Lord in 1988. In addition to the children, he had 8 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. Following Marilyn's death, Paul married Sarah Lyons.
Paul loved the Lord and served Him as a pastor for 58 years in four different locations- Divernon, IL, Council Bluffs, IA, Denver and Aurora, CO. In 2004 we celebrated his 50 years of ordination. While serving as pastor in Council Bluffs, he was instrumental in starting three new churches- which are still thriving. He served on the boards of both the Conservative Baptist Home Missionary Society and CB Foreign Mission Society, as well as other boards. Paul's passion was sharing Christ. leading people to the Lord, and sending them out to share their faith.
Paul loved to travel and he led over 20 groups to the Holy Land. Paul's love for missions was evident in his life. He and Marilyn traveled throughout Africa, Central and South America, visiting missionaries and observing their work. In later years, he served as chaplain on many cruises. He loved photography and was a collector as well. He had several different collections; his largest is a model car collection which numbers over 300. Even though Paul enjoyed his collections, most important to him was that people knew Jesus. He continued to share Him with the many people who came into our home at the assisted living facility, where he lived, until the Lord took him home on February 23, 2022.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are welcome to the Jesus Film Project, PO. Box 628222, Orland, FL32862-8222.
