Paul LeRoy Wade, age 60, passed away at his home in Aurora, Colorado, on April 9, 2025. He was born in Poplarville, Mississippi, on June 9, 1964, to George and Diann Wade.
Paul served his country with honor and unwavering dedication for 35 years. He began his career in the U.S. Military, serving from 1983 to 1998, and bravely served during the Persian Gulf War, as well as in other military operations. Later, he transitioned to a role as a federal government employee, where his commitment to public service continued. His outstanding contributions were recognized with a national Employee of the Year award, honoring him as one of the most exceptional civil servants in the country.
An avid hunter, Paul’s passion was highlighted by an unforgettable trip to Africa, shared with close friends. Reloading was both a hobby and a form of therapy for him, and he found great joy in teaching others how to shoot. He also had a deep love for cooking, often bringing people together with the meals he prepared and the stories he shared.
Paul was a selfless soul whose generosity knew no bounds. He lived to give freely, offering his time, resources, and spirit to those around him. His heart overflowed with compassion, always ready to share not just what he had, but who he was. He consistently put others before himself, easing burdens and lifting spirits with quiet grace. His life was a testament to kindness and service, and he leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion.
To his son, Paul was more than a father—he was a quiet teacher and a source of strength and wisdom. He taught by example, showing what it meant to live with integrity, humility, and compassion. His lessons were often unspoken, found in the way he treated others, the way he faced challenges, and the way he loved without condition. The values he passed on live deeply in those who knew him, especially his son, who carries forward his legacy with love and pride.
Paul is survived by his son, Ryan George Wade, and his cherished German Shepherds, Fred and Ginger.
A memorial service will be held on May 6th at 1:30 p.m. at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
In honor of Paul’s life and to help cover final arrangements and essential expenses following his unexpected passing, a GoFundMe has been created. If you're able to contribute or share the page, it would mean so much to us during this difficult time. Thank you for your support and kindness.
