Pearl Alma Schmidt was born to Alfried and Irma (nee Schreiber) Wehausen at Brillion, Wisconsin, on June 18, 1928. She was baptized on July 7, 1928, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brillion. She attended Trinity Lutheran School for 8 years and graduated in 1942. She was confirmed at Trinity on June 1, 1941. She moved to Golden, Colorado, in June of 1948 with her parents and sisters. She worked in the retail business there. She married Paul Schmidt at St. James Lutheran Church in Golden on June 7, 1953. Three children, Pauline, Phyllis, and Dwight, were born to this union. She farmed with her husband and family in the Platteville and Ft. Lupton areas for 45 years. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Platteville for 55 years where she taught Sunday school and was active in the Ladies Guild. She volunteered at Eldergarden in Ft. Lupton and New Beginnings thrift store in Denver. After the death of her husband, Paul, on December 29, 2007, she moved to Concordia on the Lake in Littleton in July of 2008. She resided there until her death on August 13, 2015. She is survived by her daughters Pauline (Ora) King and Phyllis (Tom) Davis; her grandchildren Nathan King, Matthew King, Sean (Kodi) Davis, Heidi Davis, and David Schmidt; her great granddaughter Jade; daughter-in-law Sue Schmidt; her sisters Winnie, Audrey (Elwood), Eileen (Dennis); and in-laws Harold (Betty) and Ruth (Carrol). Besides her husband, those who preceded her in death were her son Dwight in 1998 and her parents. Services will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church, 2600 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Denver, CO. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM with a reception following the service at church.
