Peggy Hrouda, 58, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023 in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. She was born on Friday, May 21, 1965 to parents Anne Marie (McLaughlin) Coan and Leo Franklin Coan in Fremont, Nebraska.
Peggy worked as a Special Needs Educator at Slater Elementary within the Jefferson County School District. She took much pride in her work and enjoyed every day.
Peggy was very involved in the American Kennel Club (AKC) and competed in many events over the years. She was particularly proud of winning a Category B Award with her German Short-haired Pointer, Shelby Marie, in the Fast CAT competition. Peggy was also a member of the Bitches with Birddogs group. Peggy was an active member of the Lakewood Elks Lodge – 1777 and held the title of an Esteemed Leading Knight. She was also a friend of the Wheat Ridge Fire Department and the Denver Police Department through her husband, who served with both.
Peggy is preceded in death by her son, Nathaniel Louis Hrouda, and by her father, Leo Franklin Coan.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Daniel Hrouda; her children, John Hrouda, Rachel Hrouda, Vaughn, and Emily; by her two grandchildren; by her mother, Anne Marie Coan; her two sisters, Mary and Cathleen, and numerous extended family members. She will be deeply missed and her memory will be treasured by all who knew her.
