Guadalupe ""Pete"" Richard Gomez, 80, passed away November 12, 2010, in Centennial, Colorado. He was born December 12, 1929 in Bingham Canyon, Utah to Antonio and Modesta Leyva Gomez. U.S. Air Force Veteran. A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Pete worked for the U.S. Government as a Metrologist for many years. Pete is survived by his children, Stephen R. Gomez, Laura Gomez-Weakley, Lawrence J. Gomez; three grandchildren, Jason Gomez, Jackson Weakley and Lucy-Nell Weakley; and siblings, Tony Gomez, Phil Ochoa and Marie Ramirez. Pete was preceded in death by his wife, Benita Betty Gomez; two sons, Jeffrey Mark and David Anthony Gomez, and several siblings. A Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 16th, 12 Noon at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1939 E. Easter Ave., Centennial, Colorado. A viewing will be held at the Church also on Tuesday, from 9:30-11:30am. Additional services will be held in Salt Lake City, Utah, on Friday, November 19th, 11am, at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, with a viewing one hour prior to the service. Burial will be with his beloved Benita at Valley View Memorial Park.
