Peter Jacob Fase

Peter Jacob Fase was born in Grand Haven, Michigan to Herbert (Corky) and Emma Fase on September 25, 1933. Brother of Hebert (Butch) and his wife Marcy and the late Diana LaFave. Pete attended school in Grand Haven. In 1950 he enlisted in the Air Force where he spent 4 years and was discharged in 1954 from Lowry Air Force Base. He returned to Grand Haven until April of 1957 when he went to southern California. He stayed in southern California until November 1957 and came to Denver to have Thanksgiving with his childhood friend, Alfred Smith. Al talked him into staying in Denver. He got a job at Martin Co. While at Martin Co. he became friends with James Byers. On June 4, 1960 he married Carmela (Straface). Pete went to work at the post office on October 15, 1960. April 16, 1961 their late daughter Diana was born. Pete retired from the post office in September 1988. Pete was very active in sports in his childhood. Also, he played on the post office softball team. He loved the Broncos and attended games for over 20 years. For a few years he helped coach little league baseball, football, and basketball. Pete was an uncle to Dave, Mike, Earl, Art, Chris, John Jr., Abbey, and Katie and a great-uncle to several. Pete also had many friends, among them Dave Slote, Bob Cordova, and Lynne Vuletich. Pete remained in good health until cancer struck in 2016. He had a long hard battle this past year, but he never gave up. Interment will take place on Friday, April 14, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard, Denver.
