A man for all seasons
A man for all reasons
A man among men
Let's talk about how it all began.
The oldest of three handsome brothers
Born of a wonderful father and mother.
Raised these brothers three
To be independent and strong you see.
The Army called and served proudly and well,
Driving big tanks was a story he'd many times tell.
Training grounds for life's lessons no doubt
That's what life is all really about.
Michigan State was the next stop of life,
Everyone knows where he found his beautiful wife!
She knew he was the one before he knew it too,
After all he's a guy and although intelligent, it's true.
But C. knew what was best for both of you.
Life was fun, life was very good,
Living the good life from anywhere they stood.
Boats to sail, Rocky Mountains to ski with zest,
Apres-ski to follow was always the very best.
Music is the soundtrack of your life,
At a concert or playing albums of days gone by.
A man who loves the one-liners of truth be told,
Philosophical or simple reality yet to unfold.
A planner of life is his modus operandi
Are you driving the bus as Peter took the Tourists up the mountain to ski,
Or are you driving and saying, just let it be.
And it proved to be the very best way To a lifestyle they would enjoy each and every day.
Oh, he loved his Corvette, his Porsche, his camper too,
And every vehicle had a name, this one's for you.
Racetracks were fun to watch and play,
Who knows maybe even me driving someday.
If Paul Newman can do it, why not me?
C. patiently said, okay, let's just wait and see.
And tell a good story is a gift he possesses
Just ask anyone who loves to listen,
As the sun promises to set and the water did glisten.
A cold beer in hand, C. by his side,
What more could a man want, let's go for a ride.
If he has a pen in his pocket and a cocktail napkin near,
I'll make some notes until my friends appear.
Photos of their life adventures in the form of slides,
From the Islands to overseas, traveled worldwide.
You can Facetime too they say,
Give me a phone to call a friend is the only way!
Yes, a successful career was his no doubt,
PPG Pittsburgh Paints was a big corporate step
And as Peter would always say,
It's hard to convince people to spend 25 bucks on a gallon of paint
When you can buy it at Sears for less, makes sense
Ticket shock for all today is my guess.
Traveling the world, sightseeing was fun,
But the best times were on a boat, on a beach,
With good friends and everyone.
Cabo became like a second home of peace and calm
Filled with everything he loved,
Sunshine, sand, suds, the water blue,
I believe this is what is really good for you.
Those who bring sunshine into the lives of others
Cannot keep it from themselves
And if you were touched by Peter in your life,
I promise an influence he would have
A positivity to help and guide,
Advice given if asked and maybe
Sometimes just given
Because for him it was always about livin'.
Raise a toast, hold your glass high,
Celebrate a great life well lived and The love he shares with all,
What Peter would want is for you today
Keep on dancing through life and all will be fine
And to all, on this day raise a glass of ole' wine!
FROM ALL YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS WHO LOVE YOU TODAY TOMORROW AND ALWAYS
