Pete G. Razatos passed from this world on Febuary 23, 2021 at the age of 90. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Evridiki, his daughter Anna (Pete) Zaharas, his son Kosta (Mary) Razatos, and his four grandchildren: Gregory and Nikolas Zaharas, and Dimitri and Cecilia Razatos. His is survived by many nieces and nephews in Greece where they commemorated his passing by ringing the church bell in his village.
Born in Vlihata on the Island of Kefalonia, Greece on November 23,1930, Pete was the youngest of seven siblings. He was the only one from his family who left Greece and immigrated to Denver, CO in 1961. He started at the Brown Palace Hotel and worked hard to start his own business. He established the Old Curtis Street Bar, in 1976 which he proudly ran until 2012. He was a very warm, gentle, and kind man. People would come from far and wide for the best green chili that Denver had to offer. Many people will remember Pete in his button up shirt and sweater vest greeting patrons by name.
Funeral services will be held on Monday March 1, 2021 at 10:30 am at the Assumption of the Theotokos Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Denver, 4610 E. Alameda Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Assumption Cathedral of Denver.
