Peter John Smith

Peter John Smith, 73, of Aurora, CO and Copper Mountain, CO passed away July 31, 2023.  He was born September 30, 1949 in Glendale, CA to Virginia L. Smith and Leroy J. Smith both of whom preceded him in death.  He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary Lois Douty, a sister Christine L. Garvey and a niece Robyn M. Sumners of North Hollywood, CA.

He was a graduate of Council Grove High School, Council Grove, KS and the University of Missouri Kansas City with a degree in Pharmacy.  He was the owner of Frankfort Drug Company, Inc. in Frankfort, KY.  He worked for several home infusion companies in the Denver Metro Area.  His last employment was with Centura Health at Summit Medical in Frisco, CO.

Peter was a volunteer on the Copper Mountain Safety Patrol and for the National Weather Service as a weather watcher.  Besides his love of skiing, he loved biking and participated in the Triple By Pass Ride and the Copper Triangle Rides.
