Peter Solomon Tarin, 73 years old, living in Denver, Colorado passed away on March 24, 2022 after a valiant battle with Covid-19 complications. He was hospitalized as a result of covid October 2020 for more than 100 days, twice being on a ventilator, but was a fighter and fortunate to finally come home to his current wife, Melinda (Mindy) who cared for him, along with others, for one year exactly until his departure.
Pete was born on October 1, 1948 to Robert Tarin and Dora Zepeda in Los Angeles, California, both deceased. Pete attended Huntington Park High School through 1966. He played football with his school and continued playing with community club teams for a few years after. He was also a very good athlete in gymnastics, and enjoyed a variety of sports. He worked primarily in warehousing at various companies and retired in approximately 2007 from Albertson’s Warehouse Facility after 19 years of service. Pete was a strong supporter of the union, having belonged to Teamsters & Food Employers Security Trust Fund for all of his service with Albertson’s. Pete was one diehard Rams fan for many many years and had a variation of memorabilia that he started collecting since the team began. He cheered his team on for every game played and his devotion to the Rams was known by all. He also kept scores on other teams primarily to keep track of where his team status ranked. Pete also coached and managed young age boys and girls in Tee ball and baseball for over 13 years. He enjoyed this activity for many years and sought out to teach and provide skills to each of his team members the best way he knew. His teams had many wins and trophies because of his knowledgeable efforts.
Survivors also include his children, Sarina & Joe Lopez, Marie & Joe Viramontes, Peter & Kat Tarin, Christie Rios and Joseph Tarin. Step-children include Annette, Jeanette and Ronald Bozonier. Grandchildren include Anjonette, Joe-Jo, Justis, Angolina and Shennel Viramontes, Peter III, Alfred, Precious, and Robert Tarin, Joseph Jr., Shae-Aera and Neriah Tarin, Matthew Rios, Elena, Aaliyah Brown, Briana Salgado, Robert Salgado (Anthony), Joseph Lopez and Andrew Lopez. Step-grandchildren include Christopher Bozonier, Desiree Florez, Dominic, Alyssa, Keirra and Lilyana Bozonier, and NaJon Bozonier. Great-Grandchildren include Avery Salgado and Mariana Torres. Pete was preceded in death by siblings Robert, Mario and Rebecca Tarin. Siblings he is survived by are Victoria Dominguez, Alex & Sylvia Gonzales and Michael & Emmek Gonzales along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held on Monday, April 4, 2022 at Horan & McConaty Mortuary, 1091 South Colorado Blvd., Denver, CO. Viewing for guests will be from 3:00-5:30pm with rosary from 5:30-6:00pm followed by eulogy and expression of memories of Pete. Mass will be held on Tuesday April 5th with viewing at 9:00am and mass beginning at 10:00am at Church of the Risen Christ, 3060 S. Monaco Pkwy, Denver, CO 80222. Reception to follow in the church hall. There is no burial or interment.
