Peter “Pete” Peterson, 76, Arvada, Colorado, passed away Sunday April 23rd, 2023. Born to Marshall and Fern Peterson on July 18th, 1946, in Milwaukee, WI.
Pete grew up in Wind Lake, WI. He spent many summers boating, water skiing and ice skating. He graduated from Muskego High School in 1964. After attending college and majoring in English, he decided that he wanted to be a computer programmer. That profession brought him to Colorado. He was always an entrepreneur and after his computer days were over, he started to branch out into financial consulting, automotive transport and lawn care, all of which were very successful.
He was a gearhead to the max and recently just purchased his dream car, a 1961 Ford Starliner. He and Robyn spent many hours in the garage working on cars, drag racing and belonged to SCCA. He also loved to travel, with a road trip being his favorite. Pete was very much interested in his family lineage and spent many hours working on genealogy. Pete was a good friend to all.
Pete is survived by his wife, Robyn; Daughter, Kim (Troy) Boyd; Son, AJ (Shelly) Peterson; Stepdaughter, Loree Behanna; Stepson, John (Lisa) Hamlin; and his grandchildren Shelby, Tera, Steven, Dylan, Aiden, Emily, Kate and of course, Pip the wonder dog.
Services will be held at Horan & McConaty, 7577 W. 80th Avenue, Arvada on May 10th, at 2pm with a reception to follow. Pete will return to Wisconsin for burial. If you have a classic car, please drive it to the service. One last car show for Pete would be a great send-off.
