Philip David Oberg (“Phips”), 93 years old, passed away on January 8, 2024.
Philip was born on November 19, 1930, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Chas. Brother Oberg and Signe Elvera Fagerstrom. He grew up alongside his siblings: Genevieve, Ralph, Bertil (“Bud”), Nina, June, John, and Charles (“Kelly”).
Philip grew up in Minneapolis and met his wife, Mildred (“Millie”), in high school. They married in October 23, 1948. Philip was drafted into the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War, rising to the rank of Master Sergeant. Philip worked with G&K Services for 30 years. He had various positions in the company and then worked his way up to Western Regional Manager.
Phil and Millie moved with their four children to Denver, CO in 1973. Philip retired after working 30 years for G&K services. He was an active member of the church and loved spending time with family.
Philip is lovingly remembered by his children, Bill (Roxanne), Richard, Dan (Kim), Nancy, his grandchildren, Crissy (David), Amanda (Zach), Megan, and Connor (Taylor), his great-grandchildren Alexis, Christian, and Kasen, and countless friends and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 74 years, his daughter Barbie, and his seven siblings.
The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Centennial, CO, on February 27, 2024 at 11am. A reception will follow at the church. Private burial services at Fort Logan for immediate family only to follow.
