Philip Wilson

Philip Arnold Wilson died peacefully at home on December 16, 2020.

Born on November 13, 1935 to Maggie Ruby (Jameson) and Paul Wilson. He had three siblings, Pasty Ann, Richard Allen, and James Edward.

Phil was born and raised in Warsaw, Indiana, joining the US Navy after high school. After the Navy Phil had a long career in the US Government.

While deployed on the USS Randal during the Korean War, he met Dora Jean (Larimer). They were married in 1956 and enjoyed 64 years together. Phil is survived by his wife, son Philip Michael Wilson, daughter Alicia (Allen) Wilson, and son Patrick Steven Wilson. Together Phil has seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Phil will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews.

Philip had a wry sense of humor, and was fond of making up rather salty sayings.  He had a great interest in genealogy, and enjoyed improving the house and yard.  But the most important thing in Philip’s life was his family. They were his special pride and joy, and he never failed to stress that the family comes first. He was modest in taste and lifestyle, but extravagant in his breadth of mind and interest. Philip was funny, and smart, and sometimes made us crazy with his neatness and organization. We will miss him every damn day.

At his request, Phil’s service will be held in Warsaw, Indiana later in the year when it is safer to travel and gather.
