A Denver native, Phyllis was the daughter of James and Thalia Woods. She graduated from Kent School for Girls and Smith College. She later attained 3 additional degrees and taught at the hotel schools at DU and Metropolitan State University of Denver. Her last career and the one which she considered her true calling was in the field of psychology and counseling as a Licensed Professional Counselor. In addition to her private practice she served on staff at several Denver area behavioral health clinics. Her varied interests included travel, creative writing, fly fishing, and spending time in our beautiful Colorado mountains. Phyllis is survived by her sister Diane (Al) Hickerson of Denver, her two daughters Leslie Baldwin of Denver and Anne (John) Walmsley of Tampa; her two grand children, Beck Easton and Alexandra Easton and great grandson Easton Mora. She also had one nephew Clifford (Leigh) Hickerson and nieces Martha & Lorna Hickerson. In addition, she leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends. Phyllis has requested a private celebration of her life, but would want all who touch her life to know that for her death is just a continuation of the journey. The family wishes to thank all of those who have been such an integral part of her life. In lieu of flowes the family suggests a memorial donation to the charity of your choice.
