Phyllis Marie Elms

Phyllis Elms, 72, died February 23, 2020 while battling cancer for 4 months, in Lone Tree, Colorado.

She was born February 14, 1948 in Denver, CO to Angus and Hazel Wilmoth (Melick). She was the youngest child in a large family of 13 children.

Phyllis was united in marriage to Stephen Elms on January 15, 1966 in Denver, CO. They welcomed their first child, Sheila Annette, on December 30, 1966. Their 2^nd daughter, Tammie Lynn, was welcomed to the family on April 30, 1968. A son, Stephen Paul, Jr. was born on December 28, 1971. In 1980, the family relocated from Denver, CO to an acreage in Osmond, Nebraska. While in Osmond, Phyllis was able to really work with one of her ‘loves in life""-poodles. She was passionate about raising and caring for Poodles. This passion led to a very fulfilling business/hobby for her and the family as she was able to produce a develop quality puppies that were in demand around the country. While she was no longer raising poodles in her later years, she loved watching dog shows and taking care of her pet poodles Chrissy and Vicki.

Other interests and hobbies included spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren when any opportunity would allow for that to happen, following horse breeding and horse racing, hitting local garage sales for the best deal, and visiting the casino capital of Colorado, Black Hawk, with her family and friends. Phyllis also enjoyed working at Walmart, as a cashier, until her health would no longer allow her to work longer hours.

Phyllis is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Tammie & Kevin Hulse and her son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Tricia Elms, her grandchildren Kaitlyn (and Chris Bailey), Kassidie Hulse, Blake Elms, Kyle Elms, Shelby Elms and great grandchildren, Sullivan, William and Evan, and Channing.

Phyllis was proceeded in death by her eldest daughter Sheila Annette and her husband, Stephen Sr.
