Phyllis Marie (Spencer) Hadley July 16, 1945 â April 23, 2017 Phyllis Marie Hadley, 71, of Thornton, Colorado, passed from this life to eternal life on Sunday, April 23, 2017. Phyllis was born in Wichita, Kansas to Reverend Howard Laurence Spence and Elizabeth ""Bessie"" Wilma Lemuth on July 16, 1945. She attended South High School in Denver, Colorado, graduating with the class of 1963 and went on to attend Colorado Women's College. Phyllis met and married Charles Dennis Hadley on June 25, 1977, blending their four children. Her working life was spent in the Business Management field working for such companies in Denver as Mine and Smelter, Children's Hospital and most recently, Grace Manor in Burlington. She was a long time active member in her church, serving several years on the vestry. Phyllis was a very spiritual and faithful person, a loving and compassionate mother, Grandmother, sister and aunt, and enjoyed activities such as reading, writing, and dedicating her time to her profession and personal passions. Phyllis's father, mother, sister Ellen, sister Mimi, and son Charles Dennis Hadley, Jr. preceded her in passing. Phyllis is survived by her husband Charles Dennis Hadley, son Michael Wayne Carter, Jr., daughter Jennifer Lynn Carter-Nickerson, daughter Valerie Esther Torres, brothers Reverend John Spencer and Larry Spencer, grandchildren Natasha Carter, Britney Carter, Timothy Nickerson, Amy Nickerson, Angelo Funyama, Nicole Funyama, Joseph Torres, Jr., Christian Torres, Brenden Torres, and great-grandchildren Knox, BeBe, Brooklyn, Davina, Nila, Jeremiah, and Tristan. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held this Saturday, April 29, 2017, 1:00pm at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, in the ministry center of the Presbyterian Church of Broomfield, 350 Main Street, Broomfield, Colorado 80020. A reception will follow the memorial service. The Interment of the ashes will take place at a later date. Memorials: A Memorial Fund in Phyllis' honor has been established to help with expenses.
