Phyllis Riley Horner 1946 '"" 2004 Services are being held for life long summer resident Phyllis Riley Horner, on January 8, at the Wellshire Presbyterian Church in Denver, Colorado. She was received into the church triumphant on December 19, 2004. Mrs. Horner was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, attending John Burroughs School for high school. She was the daughter of Russell and Magene Riley, also long time Leland summer residents. She attended Wheaton College in Massachusetts, graduating in 1968. After graduation she moved to Vail, Colorado where she worked with her brother Ron Riley in several restaurants and commercial ventures. In 1983 she married Wesley W. Horner and they had two daughters, Jessica (20) and Abigail (17). Mrs. Horner was a preschool teacher and active in school affairs with her daughters. She was an avid outdoors person enjoying both winter and summer sport activities. She was also very active in the affairs of her church. She is survived by her husband and daughters, by her brother, Ron, and three sisters, Mrs. Donna Hearne, Mrs. Ruth Grote and Mrs. Peggy Weber.
