Phyllis (Feely) Schoonover passed away peacefully at her home on November 6th. A Denver native and Colorado pioneer, she was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and cherished friend. She attended school in Denver and graduated from Annunciation High School in 1951. She married Donald Schoonover, who preceded her in death. She found her career as the Assistant for the president of the Community College of Denver until her retirement in 1995. Phyllis gave freely of her time, by volunteering for numerous causes. In retirement she fulfilled many dreams. Foremost was her tour through Ireland where she visited her ancestors' homeland. She made instant friends. Phyllis honestly cared for and about others. She is survived by her children: Kim (Barry) Ernstoff, Tim Schoonover, Diane (James) Draughn, Shawna (Ron) Bailey, seven grandchildren: James Jr., Marcus, Adam, Lindsey, Madison, Aaron, and Donny, her sister Mary Alyce Widen, brother William Feely, her nieces, nephews and her many friends A rosary will be said at Horan McConaty on Speer Blvd. and Federal on November 11th at 7:00 with a viewing beginning at 6:00. Mass will be held at Sts. Peter and Paul located in Wheatridge on November 12th at 10:00am with the burial following at Mt. Olivet.
