Porfirio "Perry" Lloyd Murrieta

Emblem

Perry passed away the morning of June 19th at St. Anthony’s Hospital after a long struggle with his weakening body. He was the first born to Rosarito Murrieta, born on October 16, 1947, in Jaroso, Colorado and in the next 6 years he would gain 3 younger brothers that he would pick on.  Growing up each brother would say, “Perry is Mom’s favorite”.

Six days after graduating from high school he was on his way to Ft. Bliss, Texas for basic training. Soon after he was sent to Vietnam. When his military obligation ended, he enrolled at Metro State and later transferred to University of Colorado Denver where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Communication. After 2 years with the FCC, he went to work for Colorado Social Security until his retirement.

Perry never married or had children but his love for his nieces and nephews was immense. He would do anything for them. He was a kind, sweet and loving man to family and friends. He will be missed.

Memorial services will be held July 11th at 11:30am at Horan & McConaty, (3101 S.
