R. Isabelle Potter, 91, of Aurora, Colorado, passed away on March 8, 2011. Isabelle was preceded in death by her loving husband John A. L. Potter and is survived by loving family: daughters Carol, Mary, Isabelle, and Bernice; and sons John, Kenneth, and Tom; 10 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. Born in New Brunswick, Canada, Isabelle and her husband moved to New York in 1946. After the loss of her beloved husband in 1995, Isabelle moved to Colorado, where five of her seven children now live. Strong, yet soft-spoken, Isabelle was a remarkable mother. Devoted to her family, Isabelle cultivated an environment in which her children would exist in true happiness, and where nine people loved each other fiercely. She taught her children by example about unyielding faith in God and to always be joyful, playful, and, most importantly, loving. Her legacy remains not only in her children and their families, but also in her charming works of art. A brilliant artist, Isabelle made countless quilts to keep warm her loved ones; dolls for little girls to dote on; and paintings of scenes so beautiful, one is reminded of the beautiful woman who created them. A Visitation and Wake will be held from 1:00-5:00 p.m. with a Rosary immediately following on Sunday, March 13, at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel (11150 East Dartmouth Avenue, Aurora, Colorado 80014). A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 14, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church (19099 East Floyd Avenue, Aurora, Colorado 80013). Burial will follow in Warwick, New York.
