Rachel B. Warnick

September 2, 1927 — January 6, 2016

Rachel B. Warnick was born in Snyder, Colorado on Sept. 2, 1927 to Adam and Katherine Burkhardt, Russian immigrants. She met Don Warnick at a softball game when they were both in their late teens, and they married in 1945. They were married for 69 years at the time of Don's passing in 2014. Rachel passed away on January 6, 2016 at the age of 88. Rachel was an avid fan of Mickey Mouse and had an extensive collection. She loved to travel, she and Don traveled by RV to all 48 contiguous states. She also loved going on cruises, but especially loved the trip she and Don took to Australia. Although she was born deaf, her sisters taught her to read lips and to speak. Rachel leaves behind a loving family. Sister of Irene Rutz, Dorothy (Harold) Leffler, and Betty Herman; mother of Regan (Teresa) Warnick; grandmother of Donovan (Kathryn) Warnick and Drew (Julianna) Warnick; and great grandmother of Brenna Melia, Lane and Lana Warnick. Her sense of fun, sense of humor, smile, hugs, and limitless love will be greatly missed. Memorial Service Sunday, January 17, 11:30AM at 8505 E. Lowery Blvd, Denver. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Silent Athletic Club, 1575 Elmira St, Aurora, CO 80010.
