Rajeeyah Ali

February 13, 1981 — October 12, 2016

Rajeeyah Ali (Christie Lee Hamm) was born in Denver Colorado, to Leodis Walter Hamm and Sandra Lee Gray on February 13, 1981. She was Leodis Hamm's first child and Sandra Gray's third child. She attended Montbello High School in Denver, Colorado. She was a wife and mother. Rajeeyah met and married Saleem Ali, and from that union five children were born: Fatimah, Aasmaa, Abdul-Aziz, Naeemah, and Maymoonah. In February 2016, Rajeeyah gave birth to her sixth child Malik Ali. Rajeeyah was extremely outgoing and loved meeting people. She was a friend to everyone she met. She was a very playful person and always ready to entertain—indeed she was the ""life of the party!"" She enjoyed cooking, laughing, movies, playing cards, and spending time with her family. Rajeeyah loved her children and family dearly. Rajeeyah was exceptionally benevolent—always willing to give of herself, her time, and her energy. She would give the clothes off of her back to help meet the needs of others. She often volunteered to babysit for others simply because she loved children. Rajeeyah was a fighter who never gave up and never stopped smiling—she passionately battled with life and fought the good fight until the end. On October 12, 2016, Rajeeyah Ali passed away in Denver, Colorado. She is greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Rajeeyah is preceded in death by her daughter Naeemah Saleem; her mother Sandra Gray; and her sister Rekisha Ebonique Harris. To forever cherish her memory, Rajeeyah Ali leaves her beloved three daughters and two sons: Fatimah Saleem (Denver, CO); Aasmaa Emmitt (Denver, CO); Abdul-Aziz Saleem (Detroit, MI); Maymoonah Saleem (Denver, CO); and Malik Ali (Denver); father Leodis (Gayla) Hamm (Denver, CO); sister Tiffany Gray (Denver, CO); brother Jeremiah Hill (Denver, CO); sister Cortina Bradley; step-sister Danielle Springs (Denver, CO); grandmother Grace Lee Sanders Hamm, affectionately known as ""Big Momma"" (Denver, CO); grandmother Minnie Lee Brooks (Chicago, IL); and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
