Ralph Chester 'Doc' Nash

March 3, 1920 — October 14, 2011

Ralph Chester ""Doc"" Nash, 91 years of age, was a resident of Lakewood Colorado. Born in Centerville, South Dakota on March 3, 1920, he graduated from Yankton High School in 1938, enlisted in the United States Army in 1939 and was stationed at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. He later joined the United States Coast Guard in 1940 and served for 4 years at Pearl Harbor, surviving the surprise attack on December 7, 1941. Ralph married Nina Jean Bang on April 24, 1943. He worked as a mechanical engineer from 1946-1978 for numerous industrial contractors, principally as a construction manager. Ralph Nash is survived by his children Ralph James (Barbara Lopez-Nash) Nash and Daniel Patrick (Nici Fawcett) Nash; his grandchildren Michael Alexander (Tara) Nash, Susannah Margaret (Ivan) Quintero, Bonnie Francesca (Evan) Holloway, Daniel Alejandro (Emily) Nash, Jo Fawcett, Shane (Li Xang) Fawcett; Jessica LaPointe; and his sister Lois Nash. Ralph was preceded in death by his wife Nina Jean Nash (nee Bang); his parents Ralph Homer and Pearl Nash (nee Miller); and his siblings Richard Clark Nash, Marjorie Miller, Robert Nash and Katherine Hutchens. A Memorial Service for Ralph Nash will be held at 12noon on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel located at 3101 South Wadsworth, Lakewood, Colorado. A Committal service will be held at 2:15pm on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Pavilion C.
