Ralph Woodruff, 77, of Denver, Colorado passed away at his home surrounded by family and friends on Tuesday, February 23rd, 2016. Ralph was a humble and kind man who cherished time spent with his family, flying his Piper Cherokee with his twin brother Dave, traveling, landscaping his yard and sometimes welcoming a wayward squirrel into his home. Ralph was born on February 1st, 1939 in Portland, Maine. The son of Col. Charles E. Woodruff and Aline Huntington Woodruff, he and his four brothers, moved frequently between military bases. After stops in Austin, Texas; Fort Benning, Georgia and Fort Shafter in Oahu, Hawaii the Woodruff family settled in Denver, Colorado. Ralph has a degree in business administration from the University of Colorado and a pilot's license from Clinton Aviation. Ralph served in the United States Army and the National Guard from 1961 until 1965. After serving in the Army, Ralph worked as a Retail Manager and a buyer for Sears Roebuck and Company for 30 years. Ralph is survived by the love of his life, Caroline Bufalini Woodruff; his son Jeffrey Woodruff and Aleksandra Kupavskaya of London, England; daughters Valerie and Fred Lombardi, Laura Vukmanovich and Justin Haskin of Denver, Colorado; three grandchildren; Mia, Max and Maddox Lombardi. His brother Philip and Jane Woodruff of Oklahoma; sister-in-law's Lana Woodruff and Judy Woodruff of Colorado; brother-in-law Frank and Gloria Bufalini of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. And several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews whom he loved dearly. Ralph is preceded in death by his parents, Aline Huntington Woodruff 1949; Charles Edward Woodruff 1969; his brothers David C. 1984, John S. 1997; Charles E. 2007; and his niece Renee Woodruff Krumpholz 2016. A viewing and recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home, 9998 Grant Street Thornton, Colorado on Tuesday, March 1st, 2016. Viewing times are between 4 pm and 7 pm. The recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin promptly at 7:00 pm. A funeral mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church 4377 Utica Street Denver, Colorado on Wednesday, March 2nd. Mass will begin at 10:00 am immediately followed by a military burial at Fort Logan National Cemetery at 12:30 pm.
