Ramona Belle Monroe

February 14, 1930 — January 24, 2016

Ramona Belle Monroe was born February 14, 1930 near Radium, Minnesota to Fred and Anna Schantzen Monroe. She was the youngest of 11 children. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in her home church. She loved her Valentine birthday and always appreciated the heartfelt wishes from family and friends. She enjoyed baseball and followed the Rockies from their inception. The Broncos were her favorite football team. She was a very generous person and well-known for her homemade candy and baking gifts. Ramona graduated from Warren High School and the Sioux Valley Nursing School. She stayed with the nursing profession for 45 years. Being single, she was able to work in several states including Alaska and Hawaii. During vacations, Ramona loved traveling and was on every continent except Antarctica. She retired from Exempla Lutheran Hospital after 24 years of service. Ramona was preceded in death by her parents and 10 siblings. She is survived by 14 nieces and nephews. Ramona passed away on January 24, 2016 at the Rehabilitation Center at Sandalwood in Wheat Ridge, CO. There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, January 30th at 1PM at Wheat Ridge Lutheran Church, 8600 W. 38th Ave., Wheat Ridge, CO.80033. Interment will be in Warren, Mn. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Church.
