Retired U.S. Army Colonel, Raymond N. Barry, passed away September 8, at home in Highlands Ranch, Colorado after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Hollis, Oklahoma on March 19, 1926 to Raymond Barry and Jennie (Wade) Barry. He graduated from the U.S. Military Academy in 1950. His military career began as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division. He served in the Korean and Vietnamese wars earning numerous medals, including the Silver Star, Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Raymond earned three Masters Degrees in Meteorolgy, Journalism and History. He was an accomplished golfer and won many club championships. He is survived by his wife Marjorie of 58 years; daughter Paula (Charles) Riebe; grandchildren Ben and Sam Riebe; sisters Anne Wallace and Elaine Pendergraft; and brother Lloyd Barry. Funeral Service will be held Monday, September 14, 2009 at 12:30 p.m., at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 5303 East County Line Road (one block to the west of Holly Street), in Centennial, Colorado.
