Raymond J. Hartman was born September 25, 1927 in Denver Colorado to parents Mary E. Hartman and Edward D. Hartman. Dad (Ray) was the youngest of 5 children; Catherine, Charles (Bud), Edna and Dick. He went to Annunciation Grade School and graduated from Regis High School. Dad enlisted in the Army in 1945 and after basic training was assigned to Fitzsimons Medical Center as a medic. He and Mom (Dorothy Mayer) went to school together at Annunciation School and were married at Annunciation Church August 28, 1948. They had four children, Debra, Edward, Michelle, and Rae Jeanine. Dad spent as much time as he could with each of us and we all treasured whatever time we got. Deb married Dan Breeling - May 18, 1968 Ed married Jill Schmidt - September 13, 1975 Rae Jeannine married Ron Marrou - September 10, 2011 Dad was an extremely talented ""Furrier"" making beautiful coats, stoles, hats and many other fur items. In this day and age this is a lost art. But all of his ""girls"" loved their fur coats and were proud to wear them. We were original parishioners at Notre Dame Catholic Church when it was founded and Dad was very involved with activities at church, including serving as an usher for mass until his failing health made it too difficult. Dad was also a ""Charter Member"" of the Notre Dame Men's Golf Club. He was also very involved with the C.Y.R.A. and coached Ed's baseball team for many years. Because of this involvement, we learned to love baseball and became avid New York Yankees fans (this was back when the Denver Bears were the only baseball in town and they were a farm club for the Yankees). Dad never missed an opportunity to attend an activity of any kind including (but not limited to) baseball, soccer, basketball, dance recitals, football, lacrosse, cheerleading and many many more - that his grandchildren and great grandchildren were/are involved in! Grandchildren: Andrew, Nicholas & Heather Hartman; Curt & Tanya Breeling and Kelli & Tyler Coomes. Great Grandchildren: Andrew & Garrett Breeling and Riley Coomes. They adored their Papa! A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2012, 10:00 AM at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 2191 South Sheridan Boulevard, Denver, Colorado 80219. Committal Service to follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard, Denver, Colorado 80235.
