Raymond Sol Mallard, age 70, passed away on Friday, January 15, 2021, in Denver, CO.
Ray was born October 30, 1950 in Jesup, GA, to Solomon and Asilee Mallard, the youngest of 3 children.
Ray was raised in Odum, GA, and went to school in Jesup, GA, where he was interested in sports and motorcycles.
After high school, he briefly attended Georgia Tech in Atlanta, GA.
He joined the Air Force and had a career that took him to many places including Idaho, Florida, South Carolina, Mississippi, Colorado, and Italy.
After his Air Force retirement, Ray became a realtor in the Denver area.
In 1972, Ray married Janett Watson in Murray, Utah, and became stepfather to her 3 young sons. Janett and Ray have lived in Aurora, CO, since 1984.
Ray is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Tommy Mallard. He is survived by wife, Janett Mallard of Aurora, CO; stepsons Cliff Trump of Elizabeth, CO, Jeff Trump of Round Lake, IL, and Kendall Trump of Bennett, CO; sister Joyce M. Oakes, Oakland, CA; Grandchildren Ryan, Stephanie, Stacey, Mitchell, Liz, and William. Great-Grandsons – Kaden, Jett, Roman, Zane, and Malakai.
Private interment will be held on Friday, February 5, at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, CO, under the direction of Horan and McConaty Funeral Home.
