Reverend Raymond A. Perez, 92, of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, was called to Heaven on December 4, 2020. His wife, of 66 years, his children and grandchildren, were at his bedside when he passed.
He was born in Fort Worth, Texas on August 31, 1928. Raymond graduated from Southern Methodist University where he received his degree in Ministry. He married Sylvia Ann Gutierrez on January 17, 1954.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Dahlia Esther Castillo. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia; children, Raymond (Rosamaria) Perez, Velia (Eli) Alvarado, Reymundo (Antoinette) Perez, Daniel (Geralyn) Perez, and Victor (Karen) Perez, along with 4 generations of grandchildren and their families.
Raymond was a veteran of the Korean War, serving as a sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. He was a career minister for 30 Years, EMT, Musician, School Teacher, Artist, Radio Disc Jockey, School Bus Driver and Security Guard. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 6101 San Luis, CO as a Chaplain. He volunteered for countless Non-Profits and V.A. events.
A Celebration of Life will be held at his home Church, Berkeley United Methodist Church at 5200 W. 43rd Ave., Mountain View, CO 80212 on December 19, 2020 at 2pm.
His final resting place will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery with full military honors in a private family service due to current Covid limitations.
The family is asking that any cards, flowers or donations be sent to Berkeley UMC where they will be earmarked for a memorial in the name of Raymond A. Perez. 1st Corinthians 15:55.
