Raymond A. Pownall

Raymond A. Pownall, age 51, passed away on November 4, 2015. Ray was born in Buffalo New York, and moved to Colorado at the age of 3. Survivors include his father, Les Pownall; his mother Frieda Pownall preceded Ray in death. He is also survived by his son, Raymond D. Pownall, his sister, Ruth Wilken, her husband Jeff Wilken, their sons Josh and Nathan, and his many, many close friends. Ray was a member of The Journey Church and served there for years as a Care Minister. He sat on the board of Compassion by the Book. He also mentored for Goodwill and was named Mentor of the Year in 2013. Ray held a Masters Degree in Organizational Development and was working toward a Masters Degree in Psychology. He spent many years working in real estate. His passions included good food and good friends. He loved a good conversation with his friends. He loved the connections he felt with others. He was a kind spirit who was always willing to help out, whether with a shoulder to lean on or for a ride to the airport. His compassion will be sorely missed. Services will be held on Tuesday, November 10 at 1:30 p.m., to be followed by a reception from 2:30 until 4:00 to celebrate the life of Ray. Light food and refreshments will be served.
