Raymond ""Ray"" was born in Chicago, Illinois to Michael and Zofia on February 8, 1926. He attended St. Mel High School in Chicago, Illinois and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of St. Mary in Winona, Minnesota. Raymond served in the United States Navy from April 12, 1944 to June 5, 1946. He met the love of his life Jeanne Marie Hughes while in college. He married Jeanne and raised three children. Ray worked as a Sales Account Manager for Packaging Corporation of America where he earned many awards for outstanding sales performance. For the past 28 years, Ray and Jeanne made their home in Ken Caryl where they celebrated 62 years of marriage. Ray always enjoyed the grazing deer, feeding squirrels and birds on the deck, playing bridge, and sharing special moments with family and friends. Ray moved to Windcrest Retirement in January 2014 where he was surrounded by his ""second"" family of wonderful friends. Ray had a passion for volunteering and serving others from all walks of life. He was active in the Knights of Columbus and Kiwanis. He enjoyed playing bridge, putt-putt golf, Sudoku puzzles, reading, and swimming. Ray is survived by his three children Randal Scott, Bonnie Stanford, Thomas Scott and his four grandsons Cameron Scott (Jennifer Scott), the late Raymond Scott, Paul Stanford and Ryan Stanford. He exemplified a man of faith and one with love that was deep and far reaching. Some of Ray's favorite expressions were 'Life is meaningless without faith' and 'God made people to be together not alone'. We were each blessed to have our loving father and grandfather Ray for 90 very special and unforgettable years. Raymond wrote for his family- 'I did the best I could in lifeâ¦serving others with the Grace of God.' May he rest ever so peacefully in the comforting arms of the Lord.
