Raymond E. Valente

Raymond E. Valente Sr, 91, of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, passed away Friday, May 6, 2016 at Mountain Vista Senior Living Center. Survivors include his wife, Elaine, sons Ray Jr and Mark, daughter-in-laws, Linda Valente and Paula Valente, granddaughters, Jaida Paolini and Gia Valente, grandson-in-law, Alessandro Paolini and great granddaughter, Marcella, along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Ray, a longtime Denver restaurant icon, owned and operated Valente's Italian Restaurant, at 38th Avenue and Reed Street in Wheat Ridge for 44 years, before closing in 2012. He operated Marc's Restaurant, also on West 38th for 18 years. The family will receive friends Thursday, 6PM - 8PM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3020 Federal Boulevard. The Funeral Mass will be Friday, 9AM, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 3549 Navajo Street . Entombment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
