Raymond Mercedes Ybarra, 84 years old, passed away at home in Denver, Colorado on July 17, 2022.

Born September 24, 1937; in Compton, California. He grew up in Watts, lived in Willowbrook, Compton, Bellflower, Henderson NV, and Denver CO.

Raymond was a member of the Union, Catholic faith, and Democratic Party. He was the President & a coach of the Pony Colt Baseball League and coached in the Pop Warner Football League for a combined 15 years. He helped achieve the impossible by beating Lakewood baseball, who were always undefeated. He is loved and respected to this day by the Bellflower youth sports community.  A devoted sports fan of The Los Angeles Lakers and college football team The UCLA Bruins. He loved an array of music mostly Jazz and Blues. If he wasn’t watching sports or sports news, he was watching one his favorite TV programs The History Channel, A&E, Lifetime, and Hallmark. One movie he would laugh so hard to was “The Gods must be crazy”. Married almost 61 years in August leaving a legacy of children, grandchild, great and great greatgrandchildren.
