Rebecca Sue Helm

Rebecca ""Becky"" Sue Garnas Helm, age 64, of Aurora, CO passed on Thursday, July 10, 2014 after a 3.5 year battle with lung cancer. Born January 20, 1950 in Mason City, IA to Robert and Evelyn Garnas. Alongside her 5 siblings, Becky grew into a beautiful young woman, full of spirit and always quick to smile. Well-known and well-liked Becky enjoyed countless friendships, and one lasting the rest of her life. Becky and LeAlan Dale Helm met in high school, went their separate ways for a short time, and rejoined in marriage on April 22, 1978 in Plymouth, IA. A marriage that brought two children, Abbe Lee and Adam Garnas, and two grandchildren, Tadan Vincent and Lyvia Roscelia. Becky made a career at FedEx, working as a courier, enjoying lasting relationships from her regular deliveries. Becky's innate ability to help, nurture, and comfort everybody she encountered gained her friends everywhere. While simply creating memories with her family on weekends held Becky's heart with time spent, she relished her girl time as well. Whether it was Bunko, book club, shopping, or yearly Memorial Day getaways, Becky enjoyed each minute of life. Born into Grace Lutheran Church in Hanlontown, IA, for the past 27 years Becky and Lee have called Holy Love Lutheran Church their spiritual home here in Denver. Becky is survived by her husband, Lee, daughter, Abbe (husband, Justin Holle), her son, Adam, and her grandchildren, Tadan and Lyvia, and her 5 siblings: Eldean, Richard, Bobbi, Rodney, and Randy. Memorial services are to be held on Monday, July 14 at Holy Love Lutheran Church, 4210 S Chambers Rd, Aurora, CO. Service will begin at 2 PM and followed directly by a luncheon at the church. Gathering will continue afterwards at the Helm residence. Beautiful. Loving. Giving. Rebecca Helm's memory to those survived by her is beyond vocabulary. The ""mother to all"" is dearly missed.
