Reed Osborne passed away peacefully in his sleep after a long battle with cardiovascular disease and vascular dementia. He is survived and dearly loved by his wife Teresa; step-children Katie and Andrew; goddaughter Caitlin and her family; first wife Elaine; Canadian cousins; many dear friends; and his "little darling" dog Winston.
Reed was born in Toronto, Canada to Marion Fines and Melbourne (Mel) Osborne. He spent his early life in Toronto working summers at his fathers pharmacy. He attended secondary school at St. Andrews College in Aurora, Ontario and subsequently earned degrees at York University and Western University in Ontario.
He was a lifelong believer in giving back to his community and promoting all forms of education. He worked in many libraries throughout Ontario ending his career as Director of the London, Ontario Library System and subsequently Director of Services for the Arapahoe County Library System in the Denver Metro Area. He was a member of Rotary, past president of the DTC Rotary Club, and a Paul Harris Fellow.
Reed was well-versed in many topics and a world traveler. Favorite pastimes included hiking, biking, taking Winston on long walks, cheering for his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs, and having a pint of beer with his family and friends. He loved singing in the Black Sheep Choir at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church.
Above all else, he was kind and generous. He was a true gentleman loved by many. He will always be remembered for enriching the lives of his loved ones. On behalf of his family, thank you for your love and support as we continue our lives remembering the joy and happiness he brought us.
Services for Reed will be Monday, August 14 at 11:00 am at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, 8545 E. Dry Creek Rd, Centennial CO followed by a reception and light luncheon. Interment will be at Seven Stones Chatfield.
