Regina Machulec died in her sleep at Golden Orchard Memory Care, Greenwood Village, CO, while under hospice care for stroke complications. She was born January 5th 1935 in Wilno, Poland, as the first child of Wladyslaw & Janina L. She grew up during WW2 during the Nazi invasion and Russian occupation of Poland. Forced to leave Wilno, her family moved to and resided in Koszalin, Poland, near the Baltic Sea. She and her then husband, escaped Poland in 1958, and lived in NY, and AZ before settling in Denver, CO. She was the widow of Jozef K. Machulec SSG US Army, who had already passed in 2011. Her only sibling, still last residing in Koszalin, Helena Lach had already passed in 2017, and she is survived by her loving daughter Ivona Orcholski and her cat Smokey. She was known for her amazing cooking & baking skills while she managed the Swedeatery Cafe at Swedish Medical Center for 20 years. She also enjoyed visiting friends at the Senior Center in Parker, CO, and traveling on many trips with her daughter Ivona, including going back to Poland twice in her lifetime.
