Reno Cappelli, age 90, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, April 5, 2022. He was born December 11, 1931, to Ralph and Vera (Ferrante) Cappelli in Wickliffe, Ohio. After high school, Reno attended both John Carroll University and Kent State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He served in the military during the Korean war, where he was stationed in Okinawa, Japan.
Reno wed the love of his life, Patricia, on April 12, 1958. They enjoyed 64 years of marriage and together raised their four children. Reno was successful in many business endeavors and instilled a strong work ethic in his children. He and Pat created a lifetime of memories and brought a sense of adventure to their family life, including skiing, traveling extensively, and having fun. They moved to Colorado in 1996 to be close to the Rocky Mountains and their family. In their retirement years, they enjoyed many trips in their RV, joining friends and family across the country and to many National Parks.
Reno is survived by his wife, Patricia; and his children, Laura, Lisa, Susan, and Reno Jr. He is further survived by grandchildren, Kyle, DeAnna, Max, Cassandra, Christina, Michael, Ian, Matthew, Noa, and Cameron; and great grandchildren, Finnigan and Ollivander, Vivian, MacRea and Kace, Madeleine and Samuel. Reno is also survived by sister, Linda (Bill) O’Brien, brother-in-law, ML “Bud” Doncaster, nieces, nephews, and many lifelong friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Ralph Jr., and sister, Marie “Mimi” Fenton.
