Reverend Vernon C. Bowman

On August 7, 2011, The Reverend Vernon C. Bowman, 80, peacefully entered into the welcoming arms of his Savior, that he spent his life sharing with others. Pastor Bowman will be fondly remembered as a dedicated pastor, always putting others before himself, and a loving and devoted husband, father and ""Papaw"" to his grandchildren. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Norma, in 2010, he is survived by his 4 children, Vernon Jaar (Laura), Diana Smith (David), Sabrina Pacholl (Lee) and Allen (Barbara); sister, Dean; ""Papaw"" to Brian Smith, Joshua Smith, Normita Irsik, Ashley Ahlman, Anthony Bowman, Timothy Bowman, Johnathan Pacholl, Jeremy Pacholl and Alexandra Bowman; and loving great grandchildren to Tyler, Kayden, Mya, Thomas, Anthony, Nevaeha and 3 additional arrivals this year. He will be missed by his family and scores of very close and wonderful friends. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 10, from 4:00-6:00 PM with Celebration of Vernon's life on Thursday, August 11 at 11:00 AM, all at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 9998 Grant Street, with a reception to follow.
