Richard L. (Dick) Brown, 82, of Lakewood, Colo., died peacefully at home May 8, 2016, after a long illness. A certified public accountant with many loyal clients, Dick never considered retiring. He was working as recently as a few weeks before his death. Dick was born in Des Moines, March 14, 1934, the son of Julia R. and Lyle Brown and brother James W., who survives him. Dick grew up in Iowa and graduated from the University of Colorado, where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He served in the Army after college. Dick worked as CPA with Ernst and Ernst, Miller and McCollom and finally Richard L. Brown PC. He was a passionate fan of the Denver Broncos, a season ticket holder for many years and attended three Super Bowls. He was delighted to be well enough to watch the Broncos win Super Bowl 50 in February. He is survived by his wife, Leanna, daughters Elizabeth Wolk of Seattle and Gretchen T. Brown of San Diego, stepdaughter Leah Weibel and grandchildren Sam, Eli, Caitlin, Joe and Jess. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 28th, 2:30 p.m. in the Lakewood Room at the Clements Community Center. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Bonfils Blood Center.
