Richard E. Carlson ""Dick"" 85 left this world to meet his maker on Sept 30, 2015. Dick was born Feb 21, 1930 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the only child of Elmer and Pearl Carlson, he never married. Dick worked at the Gates Rubber Co in Denver before serving in the US Army March 1951- January 1954, was a recipient of many medals and honors including 2 bronze stars. He then was employed as a letter carrier for the US Postal Service until his retirement in 1992. He then met his forever ""family"" he was meant to have, who over the years couldn't have loved him more, Dave, Gena, Julie and Michael O'Brien, all residents of Colorado. Dick loved baseball, bird watching, was a compassionate lover of animals, a simple man with a big heart who himself quoted ""I'm a man of few words"" although lived his life and set an example with actions loud and clear! He gave so much and asked so little. Dick was one of a kind and will forever be loved and missed. RIP dear friend until we meet again.
