Richard "Dick" Elden Davis was born October 10, 1920 and passed away on August 31, 2007 at the age of 86. Dick is survived by his wife of 54 years, Stella J. Davis. Dick was born in Eastport, Maine to Matthew and Jenny Dvis and grew up on a farm near Surrey, Maine. He graduated from Ellsworth (Maine) High School in 1940. Dick served three years in the United States Army during W.W.II as a surgical technician in an army hospital in England. Returning to the states he served in the United States Air Force at Lowry AFB until 1949. After that he worked at the Portsmouth Shipping Yards in Portsmouth, New Hamphshire. Dick met Stella in Colorado Springs and they were married on October 6, 1953 in Sioux City, Iowa. In 1954, the couple moved to Aurora and joined Park Hill United Methodist Church. Over the years, Dick worked at various positions including 20 years of federal service. With many of those at Fitzsimmons hospital. Dick and Stella have enjoyed traveling and have visited Scandanavia, Russia, Germany, France, Italy, the Carribean, the Panama Canal, Hawaii, and Alaska. In addition they criss-crossed teh United States visiting family from coast to coast. Dick was a friendly, easy-going gentleman with a great sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by his wife Stella, and by his family and friends.
