Richard Deen

Richard Deen, 86 of Northglenn, Colorado, passed away on December 5th 2021 in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Rich was born in Russell, Kansas in 1935. He grew up in Hays, Kansas where he attended St. Joe’s Military Academy and Ft. Hays University. He enlisted in the military and was stationed at Ft. Lewis in Washington. Upon completing his enlistment, he returned to Hays where he met and fell in love with his future wife Berniece Paugh.

Rich and Berniece moved to Colorado in 1960 and settle in a home in the new suburb of Northglenn with their 4 children. Rich worked for several large companies doing mostly accounting and sales jobs until his retirement in 2000.

Rich is survived by his wife of 63 years Berniece Paugh Deen, sons Rick Deen and wife Rochelle, Jeff Deen and wife Penny, and daughter Debbie Deen Hoben and husband Chris. He was so proud of grandsons Nathan Deen and wife Kiersten, Ryan Deen, Josh Deen and fiancée Olga as well as his step-grandsons Garrett Douglas and spouse Lance Duncan, Jeff Nepute and wife Alex Wallace and his great-granddaughter Gracie Deen.

He leaves behind his sisters Anita Deen and Eileen Maxwell, brothers-in-law Dwayne Paugh and wife Joy and Lloyd Kahle as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his mom O’Tillia Deen, daughter Karen Deen , great-grandson Logan Deen,  sister Patricia Coulter, niece Cindy Coulter as well as his parents-in-law Myron and Mary Paugh, sisters-in-law Joann Paugh and Julene Kahle, brother-in-law Bob Maxwell and many aunts and uncles.

Services will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church on January 7th, 2022 at 11:00 am. Reception to follow.
