Richard Fuerst

Richard Fuerst

Richard Fuerst was raised in Lake Lotawana, Missouri. An idyllic setting for swimming, fishing, boating, water skiing and even ice fishing. He was born to Winnie and Leland Fuerst (both deceased) on September 3, 1952. After graduating from the University of Missouri in 1974, he took a job in Colorado with the Bureau of Reclamation.

His many travels took him to over 50 countries. He loved hiking, golfing, and especially playing bridge. He leaves behind a brother, Lee Fuerst, his wife, Alice, and their family; and his other brother, Brian Fuerst, his wife Sherry, and their family. In 2010, he married his soul mate Linda Bowles and he became a part of a wonderful family that included their daughter Stacia. They continued to travel the world. Richard was taken from us due to complications from the flu, surrounded by family and friends, on February 1, 2025.

Visitation will be held on February 25, 2025, 12:00-1:00 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life at 1:00 pm, both at Phillips United Methodist Church, 1450 S. Pierce St, Lakewood, CO 80232. A reception will follow the service at the church.

Richard wanted memorial contributions to be made to National Jewish Health or the American Lung Association.
