Richard C. Hanni passed away in Aurora, Colorado on June 29, 2022. He was 75 years old. Born in Youngstown, Ohio, Rick lived in California but returned to Youngstown as a teenager and graduated from Chaney HS in 1965. Immediately that summer he joined the U.S. Air Force and proudly served more than 20 years until retirement in 1986. He had assignments in Mississippi, Thailand, England, Germany and Colorado. Rick worked at the Air Reserve Personnel Center in Denver as a First Sergeant and also as a civilian supervisor until he retired again in 2002.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Kay, and his beloved children Robert (Megan), and Diana. Rick was preceded in death by his brother Paul, and his surviving siblings are Karen, Kevin (Linda) and Shelly (Ted).
Rick was proud of his long service with the Air Force and loved his Air Force friends and coworkers. He loved his family deeply, and enjoyed his dogs, music, singing Elvis songs, and going to Bronco games with Rob. Rick will be sorely missed at family gatherings and for the advice and life lessons he so willingly shared.
